A proud founding member of

Katie’s Camp Fund

Kaitlyn “Katie” Anne Banks was a 17 year old young lady with big goals. Katie’s time was cut short in 2019 due to an unexpected epileptic death. Katie enjoyed church, animals, art, music, and children. She in particular loved her therapy dog, Max and all of her nieces and nephews. Katie was in JROTC at school and had hopes to eventually join the US Airforce. Katie endured years of seizures, neurosurgery, and multiple hospitalizations after her diagnosis of epilepsy as a young child until she left us in 2019. However, if you had met Katie you would not have known her struggles. Katie was positive, loving, innocent, and motivated to live a meaningful life. Katie had an infectious laugh and truly touched everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.

To continue to touch the lives of other children living with epilepsy, Katie’s family and friends have established the Katie’s Camp Fund. This fund seeks to help all kids who have epilepsy attend Camp Flame Catcher. The funds will especially help children who are unable to pay the fee to attend camp. Katie’s family and friends want all children with seizures to live a full rich life and hope that with their assistance they can experience the joy that comes from camp.
